Wine and Dine: Rocheport, Missouri
The village of Rocheport is an inviting, unique community in central Missouri along both the Missouri River and the Katy Trail. Rocheport has much to offer for outdoor enthusiasts who walk or bike the trail, as well as a fine selection of art and antiques shops for those who want to browse for that perfect ‘something’. Rocheport history, visible in local architecture and in the Friends of Rocheport museum surrounds visitors. The village also includes a great selection of Bed and Breakfasts and other lodging alternatives. One of the popular places to visit for wine tasting and fine dining is Les Bourgeois Bistro and Vineyards. Stay a day or stay for the weekend, there is plenty to enjoy in Rocheport, Missouri.
Rocheport is easily accessible from Interstate 70 and Highway 40 from St. Louis to Kansas City and points in between. Make a day trip or stay for a weekend!

Start you day with lunch at Abigail’s whose menu changes twice daily and uses a variety of seasonally available locally sourced products. With specialty meats, cheeses, pastas and more, there is something for everyone at Abigail’s.
Take a walk around Rocheport’s historic downtown popping in the various galleries, antique shops, and book stores along the way. Stop into the Friends of the Rocheport museum for some local history.
Make your way down to the Trailside Café & Bike shop to rent bicycles for an afternoon on the Katy Trail alongside the majestic Missouri River. (Make sure you borrow a lock.) Take your time exploring; stealing moments to take in the silence of the Big Muddy.
Park your bicycles at the bike racks along the trail and hike the 1/3 of a mile up to Les Bourgeois Bistro. Enjoy the view of the Missouri River from the bluff tops while tasting some locally-produced Missouri Wine and light snacks.
Take your time walking back down to your bikes and pedaling your way back into Rocheport. Your bikes must be returned by 7 unless you’ve arranged for an overnight rental.
Return your bikes and head over to the rustic, Rocheport General Store for dinner. Live music until 11 every Friday and Saturday nights. They have brisket, pizza, deli sandwiches, salads, and dessert on offer; perfect for a hungry cyclist after an afternoon in the saddle.
At your leisure, stroll back to the bed and breakfast of your choice for a relaxing nights sleep at your home away from home.
